Organized sports events at Handwara, Awantipora and Srinagar

Srinagar, February 09 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Police continues organizing sports events Under Civic Action Programme to promote sports culture among the youth. These sports events were organized in Handwara, Awantipora and Srinagar. The sports event in Handwara was organized at Police Station Vilgam which was inaugurated by SSP Handwara Shri Ghulam Jeelani Wani. SHO Vilgam Shri Bashir Ahmad was present on the occasion. The sports event in Awantipora was organized at District Police Lines Awantipora which was inaugurated by DySP DAR DPL Awantipora Shri Shahzada Kabir Matoo. In Srinagar, the sports event was organized by Police Station Nowhatta which was inaugurated by SDPO Khanyar Shri Raja Zuhaib. Hundreds of youth & students of respective areas of these districts participated enthusiastically in knock-out tournaments of Carrom, Volley ball, khokho, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis & Kabaddi. The participants were encouraged by the chairing officers, besides, winners and runner ups were suitably awarded. The aim to organize such events is to impart and inculcate the sense of discipline, sportsmanship and to boost the sports culture among the youth of the valley.(KNO)
